The biggest lake of the Faroe Islands, Sørvágsvatn is situated on the island of Vágar between the municipalities of Sørvágs Kommuna and Miðvágs kommuna. While its name is complicated to say, it is easy to decipher the lake’s beauty.
2. Kelimutu Krater Lakes
The very definition of incredible! Perched atop a stratovolcano in Flores you will find three crater lakes: Tiwu Ata Mbupu, Tiwu Nuwa Muri Koo Fai and Tiwu Ata Pol. Each lake has its own unique look and chemical makeup.
3. Peyto Lake
This is a famous one. You’ll find it glittering prettily on nearly each Canadian post card! The waters of Banff National Park’s Peyto Lake are a brilliant turquoise more often associated with warm-weather paradises like Antigua and Bora-Bora.
4. Band-e-Amir
Bamiyan is, indeed, a spectacular sight but the trip to Band-e-Amir serves to steal some of its limelight. Travelling a further 45 miles and climbing to over 9,000 feet, we are overwhelmed by the whole spectacle of this part of the Hindu Kush.

Red Flute Cave in Guilin, China was discovered during the Tang Dynasty almost 1,300 years ago.

Legend has it that early cavemen inhabited Wookey Caves in Somerset, England.
7. Tausand-Island lakes of Hangzhou
Thousand-island Lake is situated in the Chunan County of Zhengjiang Province. The lake is called Thousand-island Lake, because there are 1078 islands in total in the lake. It is 129 kilometers far from Hangzhou and 140 kilometers far from Huang Mountain. It is a pearl on the golden tour line, which includes Hangzhou, Thousand-island Lake and Huang Mountain. Thousand-island Lake with West Lake, Huang Mountain, Tai Lake, Two-dragon Cave in Jinhua and Wuyi Mountain forms a natural tourism web. Thousand-island Lake is in the center of the tourism district. It is very convenient to get there from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi and Fujian.
8. Spotted Lake
In Osoyoos, British Columbia, there is a 38-acre natural phenomenon called Spotted Lake. It contains one of the world’s highest concentrations of minerals.
9. Boiling Lake
Bubbling with grayish-blue water, the Boiling Lake is located in National Park on the Caribbean island of Dominica. It is the second largest hot spring in the world.
10. Göy Göl Lake
Göygöl (Azerbaijani: Göygöl, literally "the Blue Lake") is a natural impounded lake in Azerbaijan. It is situated at the footsteps of Murovdag, not far from Ganja.
