Do you know who the inventor of the first notebook was in the world?

It has been 26 years so far as the notebook developed, and during that time, Toshiba and IBM both claimed that they were the beginner of the first notebook. In fact, they are not. According to the media reported, the inventor of the first notebook was a company called Osborne Computer whose founder was Adam Osborne. Osborne was a figure who could compare with Bill Gates of Microsoft and Steve Jobs of Apple. But his concepts were too advanced as a result that his company was disintegrated after running 30 months. Because he was so famous at that time, the present industry call the condition that the release date of products is in the unforeseeable future as “Osborne Effect”
There is a passage wrote by Technologizer which is a science website, referring that Osborne Company invented the first notebook in the world in April, 1981, and Adam Osborne led the research & development. He was a journalist but later on he began to run business.
Being the first notebook in the world, Osborne 1 weighted 10 kilos without battery. As per the present viewpoint it was not portable at all. However, compared with the huge personal computer at that time, Osborne 1 was much smaller, and people can put it into a case and take it anywhere. In addition, Osborne 1 was the first computer that could include practical software, and the price was relatively cheap at that time that is $1795.
Besides, the Technologizer has referred Osborne’s private life. His parents were from Poland, and his mother gave birth to Osborne on the way to Thailand, and most of his childhood was spent on India. Being a journalist, Osborne was a typical grumpy computer columnist. In his column (From the Fountainhead), he criticized computer manufactures and ridiculed Journal peers and even his boss.
As an anti-Jobs people, Osborne was honest when referring the shortcoming of his product. He told his previous hirer InfoWorld that his computer only could work and compared with the competitors his product was slow and expansibility was bad. Although Osborne was honest, it was not in the right place. After his company declared bankruptcy, he has put an advertisement for the next computer and the title was: This is the computer we will offer before you know what happen.
In 1986, Osborne Computer finally closed their doors. And Osborne opened a software company again which was selling low cost software Paperback through bookshop. It had a good start but when he failed the lawsuit with Lotus, his company was broken up again. Lotus sued Paperback for copying its Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet software.
